We rented a van to drive from Rome to Naples. Good thing Matt is an excellent driver. He had to drive a standard through the crazy streets of Rome! That was scary.
We made it to Pompeii!
I loved the recreated gardens.
Here is a circle theater.
These casts of the volcano's victims were eerie and made the tragedy seem more real.
The color in the plaster had been preserved so we could see how the homes were decorated.

After sweating to death in Pompeii, we went for a swim in the gulf of Naples. The sand was black from the volcanic rock and was everywhere! It was the perfect end to a hot, but wonderful, day.
