When I went to North Carolina in November, my mom's friend Cheryl took us junkin'. I had always called it antiquing, but if you're going to be in North Carolina, you need to call it the right thing. Some people may even think this name better describes the activity. Well, we had a blast and of course I got carried away and bought 3 cake plates and a bowl that I knew I couldn't take back with me on the airplane. There was no way I could carry Jefferson and haul around a bunch of glass! I also fell in love with some hand painted cake plates painted by tracy porter, but I knew I needed to stop (and they were way out of my budget). After my plate buying spree, I debated how to get them back to Utah, and my lovely parents volunteered to drive them Arizona where we would meet after Christmas. They crammed them into their very full van and made the 40+ hour trip picking up all the rest of my brothers and sisters as they went. I owe them all big time for putting up with my extra baggage! Later I found out that they got me my treasured hand painted cake plates for my Christmas gift and birthday gift, so I can't even imagine how crammed they were. Here are my little treasures on display. I just want my family to know how much it was appreciated.
These milk glass plates are a great addition to my milk glass collection!
Wow, I love these plates--every time I walk by them I get so happy!
Don't they look good with my crazy cabinet knobs?
This bowl of fruit is my table centerpiece
I actually got this cake plate for $3! I love a good bargain.

Yes, you achieved that fresh look you were going for. I know we have alot of "stuff" around our house but mostly it was put there by G:pa. I am not good at finding the right place for things. I am not good at decorating at all.
Love what you've done. . .G:ma P
