Wow! A lot of things have happened this month. We've received an offer on our house and are closing on August 7th if everything goes as planned. Now we are just trying to find the "right" house in Springville. It's been hard work to find a house that Jason and I both like. Besides finding a house, we trying to get our little house ready to go. It been through inspections, appraisals, and a million showings. I think some people just wanted a look-y-loo or something fun to do during their day. I just hope everything goes well so we don't have to keep doing this.
My work on my thesis is hopefully coming to an end--I just hope the families finish on time or else it is one more semester for me :(
Jason and I have a new favorite place in Salt Lake. We're not really the go-out-to-eat type of people, but this is too yummy to resist. Mrs. Backers Pastry Shop stole our hearts. They don't have a website, but this photographer did a good job of capturing the ambiance of the place. sadly they were closed this month or we would have gotten some pastries for Jason's birthday (I am going to make the strawberries and creme pastry--I'll post on how it goes).
We also went to the Hogle Zoo this month. The pictures are on Jason's camera so I'll have to post them later. Jefferson loved it!
Also, my very good friend Meredith came to visit. We went to an awesome kiddie pool with our babies. Jefferson was uncharacteristically scared of it at first, but then got used to the floating sensation and nothing could stop him. He wanted to go down the slide, but it was poorly designed for a toddler (the bottom just sat in a foot of water so he would end up drowning even if I went down with him) so we had to keep him away. He was not happy about that. Later we got ice cream at the BYU creamery. Yummy. We also had a girls' night with Faith and got pedicures, gelato, and talked until midnight. It was great!
Other adventures include hiking up South Fork and celebrating Matt's and Jason's birthdays at the Old Spaghetti Factory. I'll have to post more pictures of those when I get a hold of Jason's camera. He (understandably) doesn't want me to mess with it :)
