Christmas in Florida

It was the day after Christmas, and all through plane,
not a creature was stirring except Jeff and Jane.
We tried to keep them happy and blissfully calm,
but even the best laid plans can go wrong!
The trip there was just fine considering it all,
but the flight back was horrendous once the plane began to fly down.
Jefferson woke up and had to go pee.
He cried for a few minutes until we broke the rules and took him, oh, gee.
That woke up the baby who turned into a siren.
But the trip was worth it, see that we're not lyin'.
We started by opening presents of course.  That was a great way to warm up the grand babies.

During Thanksgiving break, my parents and brother and sister cleaned up all the old toys. It was fun to see them being played with by my kids. Ah, sentimental sniff.

Jefferson loved this old train. My brother had to keep working on the engine, but he did get it to run.

Popcorn and old movies like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or Man from Snowy River are a Hansen family tradition.  We often quote these movies between ourselves.  Our spouses think it's weird.

Jefferson was super excited about the Polar Express train Grandpa and Grandma got him.

Jane normally doesn't cuddle up to men, but she likes Grandpa!
This foggy scene from my parents' porch greeted us most mornings.  There is definitely something about the South.
No New Year's Clebration would be complete without fireworks.  Jane didn't like them though so I ended up inside with her.
I even made some yummy caramel apples and candy.  What a perfect holiday treat.
We had a fantastic time and can't wait until we all get together again.  Hopefully next time we'll have Elder Hansen with us!

p.s. these pictures are stolen off my sister's blog.  My camera died the first day there :(
