Jefferson's Blessing Day--3/30/2008
Jefferson let out a earth shattering cry as soon as it was announced that he was going to be blessed. I handed him off to Jason and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, his cries just grew more frantic. I honestly didn't know three-week-olds could be that loud! Jason waited for just a minute and tried to quite him. The bishop told him to hold him close so Jason did, but nothing seemed to do the trick. It looked like his blessing was going to be pretty brief . As soon as Jason started to offer the blessing a calming spirit entered the chapel and Jefferson grew quite. Jason, guided by the spirit, gave a beautiful blessing and Jefferson was sound asleep by the end of it. Jefferson truly has a sweet spirit. I know that he is going to be receptive to spiritual things as he grows.
